THORNTON – A wanted Clear Lake felon was arrested along with his fiancé at a Thornton residence Friday morning.
Benjamin Jonathon Dalgliesh, age 25, was arrested at about 9:16 AM Friday at 501 North 5th Street in Thornton. He had been wanted since a judge issued an arrest warrant on September 26 on a parole violation report.
Dalgliesh and four others invaded a Mason City home in 2012. Dalgliesh plead guilty to a charge of class D felony burglary in the third degree and Judge Colleen Weiland suspended a $750 fine and a 5 year prison stint and instead gave Dalgliesh 2 years probation. Dalgliesh wasted little time in violating his probation and was placed in Beje Clark for 6 months. On April 22nd, 2013, Dalgliesh was again charged with violating his probation after he escaped from Beje. He was soon sent to prison in Mt. Pleasant and paroled in February of 2014. He now stands accused of violating his parole.
As Cerro Gordo deputies made the arrest of Dalgliesh Friday morning, deputies determined that he and his fiancé, 19-year-old Brooke Mckee Irwin, interfered. Irwin was charged with interference with officials acts – as was Dalgliesh – and she was taken to jail as well.
