CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man will be sentenced in a plea deal involving threats to children in schools, but not before a hearing that is now scheduled for next month.
Loren, Saxon, age 48, has accepted a plea deal in a case where he was arrested at a Charles City hotel after saying he was a member of Al-Quaida and he would shoot as many children as possible. He was charged with threat of terrorism and public intoxication in the August 24 incident that took place at the Best Budget Inn. Schools were locked down in response to the potential threat. He originally pled not guilty.
Saxon now awaits a hearing set for November 25 after his lawyer asked for a continuance. He was supposed to be sentenced November 4.
