Domestic abuser caught in car with victim, taken to jail

CLEAR LAKE – A rural Clear Lake man who just days ago pled guilty to domestic abuse was caught in a car with his victim and taken to jail to serve his sentence.

Early Saturday morning, Joshua Allen Diekhuis, age 32, was in a car with a driver who was stopped by a Cerro Gordo deputy at Jonquil Avenue and 285th Street. The deputy soon uncovered that Diekhuis was with a protected party in a no-contact order connected to a domestic abuse case. Diekhuis had just pled guilty to first offense domestic abuse on October 6, and a judge had extended a no-contact order for a full year.

The deputy arrested Diekhuis, who was taken to jail to serve his seven day jail term.
