BRITT – A Mason City man is awaiting a court date after he was caught trying to escape a traffic stop in Britt this week.
Early on the morning of October 8, a Britt police officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Lee Jay Cobb. However, Cobb refused to stop as he raced eastward on Highway 18. He was soon caught and charged with eluding, second offense operating while intoxicated and driving while barred.
Cobb was released from the Hancock county jail as he awaits an October 20 hearing.
