These are precisely the types of humans that society should lock away in solitude. But America relishes in macho tough guys and violent people, so after a few months bragging about what he did in jail, he’ll be turned out into the streets to beat on someone else.

You’ve obviously not read the article…he’s been locked up for a year and a half now. Without knowing if he was sentenced and how much time he received, how can you say he’ll be out in a couple of months?

And if hes in jail, why is the door open so he could slam it? Maybe he’s tired of being in jail without due process? Maybe he’s just a violent asshole. With only half the story it’s kinda hard to tell

Attempted Murder, broken ribs, broken jaw, dangerous weapon, willful injury, trespassing, entering victims apt.

You’re the one who obviously hasn’t read the article.

My point is typically by and large, society releases these people after only a few months, because violence in America is seen as defacto acceptable underneath the surface of the laws which punish as a formality.

Well since he’s been in jail since 2014 that really doesn’t classify as a “few months”. And like I said, without knowing how much time the original charges carried (if he’s been sentenced) who knows when he’ll get out. Obviously there’s going to be more time added on because of the criminal mischief. (4th degree is a simple misdemeanor and max is 6 months).

You’re avoiding my main point tho. Has he been sentenced for the original crimes. I highly doubt it since attempted murder conviction you would be in prison, not jail. Guaranteed he wouldn’t have an open door to slam around. Sad when violent criminals get less time than minor drug offenses. Our prison population is mostly non violent drug offenders.

Has this guy ever been sentenced?

This Is Zachary Rix, the guy the story is about. Here is what happened. Craig Aarends is a friend. He and a group of friends where harassing me in my home for reasons I will not get into here. I went to his apartment to confront him about this matter. I rang his buzzer and he voluntarily buzzed me in and let me into his apartment. He played stupid about it and tried to deny that he knew anything about it. Then he tried to get me to drop the subject with a bribe. I didn’t want to sell out my right to not be harassed in my own home so I punched him in the mouth sort of gently since he was a friend. I asked him again what his part was in harassing me and he again denied having anything to do with it, this time I punched him in the ribs this time instead of the face because I did not want to hurt him too much. He continued to deny his involvement in the harassment, so I left and went home. I later got arrested and charged with willful injury, a class D felony, because they claimed both his jaw and ribs where broken. I did not punch him very hard and to this day, 8/8/2023 I do not believe I broke his ribs or jaw. I ended up waiting in jail just over a year waiting to go to trial, because I thought I was, and may have been, innocent! The trial lasted one afternoon with a jury of twelve. There was no evidence presented that proved to me that I actually broke his jaw or ribs and because of having a shitty court appointed attorney and not knowing my rights, I was found guilty anyway and sentenced to five years in prison! To this day I do not know whether or not I was truly guilty or not. I served one and a half years on top of the year in jail waiting to go to trial. I was then released having discharged the sentence. Meaning I served all my time without parole. By the way I did not have or threaten anyone with a weapon in this case. The attempted murder charge was another charge from another incident with a different friend named Terry. She is a friend who was, around the same time as the other incident, continuously, with other friends and Craig Aarends, harassing me in my home. On one occasion she was in my house verbally assaulting me and finely after numerous attempts to get her to stop or leave I finely picked up a knife, held it to her throat and told her to leave! I admit this was kind of a drastic move but she would not stop and would not leave! She later took a knife and cut open her own hand, took a picture of it and then went down to the police station and told them I tried to kill her! The case was dropped because they knew she was obviously lying. Because of all of this, with friends lying and trying to set me up I believe I may have been innocent in the crime involving Craig Aarends, In which I served a total of two and a half years behind bars in total for it! This all had to do with what I believe was initiation into a club of sorts. It is now 8/8/2023 and I still don’t know whether I was truly innocent or not! After prison I became homeless and have been ever since. I am now living in San Francisco, California in a homeless shelter and am working on getting a job. I am a good hard worker and am in desperate need of a good job. If you know of any work pleas contact me at zacharyrix99@gmail.com. Thank you and God bless!
