MASON CITY – Police were called to break up a fight at a North End rental house this week and two men were arrested.
An emergency call was made early in the morning of September 14, at 5:51 AM to report that two men were fighting outside a house located at 7 15th Street NE. Police arrived and separated the two men involved. After an investigation, Brandon Javon Mitchell, age 18, and Leon Johnathan Walker, age 45 – both residents of the house – were placed under arrest.
Mithell was charged with disorderly conduct – fighting and immediately pled guilty the next day. He was assessed $195.00 in fines and court costs and released from jail.
Walker was charged with disorderly conduct and pled not guilty. He is now awaiting a September 29 trial. He was released from jail.
Police marked the house as a “founded case” under the city’s nuisance code due to the call for service.

Tear those rentals DOWN not an old vets! Ya numbskull
this is the reason that Cedar Falls put a stop to more rental properties in their city. Those rentals bring down the city in so many ways. let people own their house then maybe they will have pride and take care of something.
CF council has now sent the police out into the neighborhoods to aggressively code enforce the town.
