MASON CITY – A St. Ansgar man came to Mason City and apparently thought it might be cool to be the turd in the punchbowl during the RAGBRAI festival North Iowa was enjoying by getting drunk and picking fights.
Cerro Gordo county deputies who were busy patrolling downtown Mason City Wednesday evening arrested 18-year-old Timothy Cyrus Arndt of St. Ansgar a 11:10 PM, just as the live music show was ending downtown. Arndt was at the corner of North Washington Avenue and 1st Street NW, very close to the beer tents, allegedly drunk and “trying to start fights”.
Police loaded Arndt into a squad car and took him to jail, charged with public intoxication.
Tim Arndt has already made his acquaintance with Mason City police. He was arrested on April 9th, charged with interference with official acts and disorderly conduct (abusive epithets and threatening gestures). He pled guilty to those charges and was assessed $651.75 in fines and fee, but has yet to make a single payment.

Not Lorados. The patrons there don’t drop gang signs. They are mostly docile types. I’m guessing he ends up in Austin, MN at one of the bars there, which is a slightly more-happening scene than MC has.

Not racist @maybe, facts are facts. Kudos to the Jews for rebounding so well after WW2, but their tinkering and experimentation with American pop culture isn’t appreciated by me at least. I’m not stupid, I understand the broader message they are sending. They proved they could take an oppressed group of minorities, and elevate them over their oppressors, conditioning the oppressors to accept the culture and lifestyle of those they oppressed. They proved they could, now let’s move on.
Mr. Arndt, should send the Cerro Gordo county deputies who arrested him a thank you card. They more than likely saved him from an inevitable ass-whoopin.
