NIT – In a video commentary posted to the National Rifle Association’s website, a commentator says that gun control laws are “equally as unconstitutional” as Jim Crow laws, which enforced segregation of white people and black people for decades.
In a 2-minute video, a former Navy seal, Dom Raso, explains that “the right to bear arms is an unalienable civil right similar to other freedoms codified in the Constitution.”
“So just because someone makes a law that says you can’t buy, own, or carry a weapon, doesn’t make it lawful,” Raso said. “Jim Crow laws were also passed and enforced and those were equally as unconstitutional. Too many Americans don’t think of the Second Amendment as a civil rights issue and that’s dangerous because all of those rights together define freedom.”
Was Raso’s comparison a fair one, or out of bounds?
