MASON CITY – The Mason City Community School District Board of Education will meet in special session at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, in the Board Room of the Administration Building.
The Board received information at the work session on June 2 regarding the request from the Mason City High School Football Program for student athletes to attend camps out of state, one camp which requires overnight accommodations. Approval of the out-of-state, overnight trip is recommended.
Superintendent Anita Micich will present personnel recommendations. The board will accept staff resignations and act upon them. Receipt of recommendation by Superintendent to terminate contracts of certified staff who withdrew their request for a private hearing. Action by the board is required.
Certified staff hearings will then be held. Consideration of recommendation of Superintendent to terminate the contracts of the following teachers for purposes of staff reduction: David Christopherson, Kelli Ciavarelli, Jarod Haselhuhn, Sara Powell and Melissa Weiner. Each of the teachers has requested a private hearing as provided by Iowa Code Section 279.15.
