Clear Lake man pleads guilty to felony drug charge

MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man pled guilty to a felony drug charge on June 2nd.

James Godbolt Jr., age 60, pled guilty on June 2nd to a felony C controlled substance violation. Judge James Drew placed Godbolt on three years probation and suspended a 10 year prison sentence. He was assessed $315.00 in court costs and charges, while a $1,000 fine was suspended.

Additional counts of controlled substance violation and possession of a controlled substance were dismissed as a part of the plea.

On June 6th, a judge also dismissed a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia against Godbolt. He was, however, assessed $81.00 in court costs.
