CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man is in jail Tuesday on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Alex David Meyer, age 25, is now being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a charge of disorderly conduct; he was booked into the jail just before 3 AM and is being held on $300 cash bond.
Meyer pled guilty on June 3 to domestic assault causing bodily injury and false imprisonment, stemming from an incident in Clear Lake on December 31, 2013. Meyer had faced those two charges along with two counts of criminal mischief and obstruction of emergency communications. He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and awaits a trial later this month.
According to Clear Lake police, on December 31, 2013, three Clear Lake police officers were called to the Quick Shop, located at 904 North 8th Street, to answer a domestic call involving a man and a woman.
When the officers arrived, they found Meyer standing outside next to his girlfriend’s car. She was inside the car and told officers that she and Meyer had argued and that during the argument, he had hit the windshield on her car and cracked it. She said he also took her phone and broke it. As the officers spoke to her further, she told them that Meyer had held her against her will at his hotel room and that he assaulted her. She had bruises on her arms from that assault.
