MASON CITY – One daredevil was clocked at over 110 miles per hour. Another was spotted doing wheelies and extreme high speed in the Cultural Crescent.
In addition to their already considerable duties, North Iowa law enforcement was dealt a rash of complaints and sightings of motorcycle drivers gone wild Saturday night in the Mason City area.
The Iowa State Patrol and Cerro Gordo deputies were alerted late Saturday to a motorcycle driver on the Avenue of the Saints traveling at speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour. The driver did not appear to have been caught, but police were sill investigating as of early Sunday morning.

At about the same time, Mason City police and a Cerro Gordo deputy were keeping a close eye on the area of State Street and Delaware Avenue in the Cultural Crescent of Mason City. A male motorcycle driver was spotted by witnesses accelerating on Delaware Avenue near the Younkers department store through the traffic lights, doing a “wheelie” for nearly an entire block. He was somewhat the talk of the town, as folks at Kum & Go central and along Delaware Avenue were buzzing about his brash speed and tricks. The man was “looping” around the downtown, and was later seen on Washington Avenue near Central Park doing another wheelie. He was going from a dead stop to a high speed before lifting his front tire off the ground and turning it left and right. The area the man favored for his hijinks had many people walking across the street; others stood outside a popular nightclub and noticed him as he drove by, time and again. The driver did have a helmet on. An officer told NIT he might have an idea who the man is, but didn’t elaborate.
Also at about 11:30 PM, police chased down another motorcycle driver on Delaware Avenue who accelerated to nearly 100 miles per hour, a deputy told NIT. He was stopped beyond the 1000 block of North Federal Avenue and questioned, but released, because the officer’s radar could not clock his speed.

Surprised they didn’t drag out the army vehicle and give chase.
They don’t arrest bikers for super loud pipes, but they go after mostly young people with subwoofers.
No bass, no booty.
Super! Just having some fun after a day of putting up with pubic servants.
just leave them alone. they will kill themselves on it soon enough.
As usual the cops go after the wrong type of motorcycle. Chief white hair from clear lake was the king douche bag when he gloated to me about catching a crotch-rocket once at a council meeting. These cops around here have a really sarcastic sense of humour allowing Harley hogs to terrorize people with sound while going after the bikes that are super efficient and quite cool. Redneck good old boy sons of anarchy Harley bulls***.
you’re nothing if not consistent peter.
When I read his posts it makes me want to find out where he lives and take a road hog with me. He does it to himself. I wish hearing loud exhaust was my biggest problem.
@maybe-he doesn’t make a lot of sense does he?? First, he complains about some harmless noise when it wakes him from his nap and then he condones idiots going 100 MPH in the downtown area withe people crossing the streets.
Shall we discuss what you lack? Do we have that kind of time? I have to go to work tomorrow morning.
What was that? Did I hear the sound of another landless whore trying to say something? It’s hard to hear earthless nobodies as they struggle to make points. Please speak up barren one.
What you don’t know about me can almost be crammed into the grand canyon.
I suppose that’s because you’re so brave to write anonymously and NOT introduce yourself to us.
You know all I want you to know about me. You can quit asking anytime now. I also know all I want to know about you. I just never asked.
So you’re a PLO stone thrower, a pot shot taker, a barn burner in the night. Understood.
U must be getting worse. There is voluntary check-in to 5 East. Perhaps they can help u. Obsessive-Compulsive on loud noises/motorcycles. They can do de-sensitization therapy… Good luck with that…
Call me whatever helps you sleep at night. I just get tired of all the crap you post on here over and over again. Matt basically gave you your own little playground called “Think Tank” but you refuse to use it. You need to be Tank Trained.
Matt also cut my magnificent truth telling voice down to 493 characters. If you can make me laugh like Crumcutter does then I suppose I can tolerate your belligerent idiocy. “Tank trained” was funny and brought forth a chuckle.
I have always thought it should be called the “Thunk Tank” due to some of the non-sober posts that have been made in there by users.
