Former lottery employee charged after investigation

gavel-justiceWEBSTER COUNTY – Iowa Lottery staff procedures recently identified a discrepancy in records involving some lottery retail locations in north central Iowa and one person has been charged with a crime.

The Lottery’s Division of Security was immediately notified and conducted an internal review, then provided information to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and requested a criminal investigation into the matter.

As a result of the criminal investigation, former lottery employee Toni Hammer of Alta, Iowa, has been charged in Webster County with the following:

7 Counts of Lottery Fraud, Class D Felonies
1 Count of Tampering with Records, Aggravated Misdemeanor

Fort Dodge police served Hammer with a warrant on May 30.
