Swaledale man gets more prison time for burglary

MASON CITY – A swaledale man who was sentenced to five years in prison on Tuesday after a dangerous police chase got another ten years added on Wednesday.

Todd Leverne Hambly had pled guilty in Cerro Gordo County District Court to charges of felony theft and felony burglary brought by Clear Lake police. In a plea deal, Hambly plead guilty to eluding and felony D third degree burglary, while the charge of felony D second degree theft was then dismissed. He got five-year prison terms on both charges, to be served consecutively.

Hambly is being held in the Hardin County Jail as he awaits sentencing on theft and burglary charges in neighboring counties. He was sentenced in Franklin County District Court to serve two concurrent five year prison terms after pleading guilty to two counts of felony eluding brought against him as a result of a chase with law enforcement that took place in January.
