Hampton robber back in jail after short time in prison

MASON CITY – A Hampton man who police say robbed six Hampton businesses and was ultimately sentenced to five years in prison is back in jail Tuesday after a brief stint in prison.

Jeremy Nicholas Mulford, age 33, was picked up by law enforcement for parole and probation violations related to his March 25, 2013 guilty plea to three counts of felony C third degree burglary for his robbery spree in Hampton late in 2012, which also involved an injury to a police officer. Mulford was sentenced to three terms of five years in state prison, but only served about 13 months before he was set free in on February 10 of this year.

Mulford has failed to make a payment to the courts related to those guilty pleas, and owes $3,340.28. He is now in the Cerro Gordo County Jail, held on no bond.
