READLYN, IOWA – Police stopped a speeding drunk driver Tuesday and found he had meth, pot and a loaded handgun in his car.
According to the Bremer County Sheriff, 46-year-old Steven “Lumpy” Lundtvedt of Spillville, Iowa was stopped by a deputy on March 4 at about 7:17 PM on Highwayy 3 about three miles east of Readlyn.
Lundtvedt admitted to the deputy to having a controlled substance in the car.
During the ensuing search of the vehicle, a quantity of substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana were found – as was a loaded handgun.
Lundtvedt was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine (B felony), drug tax stamp violation (D felony), carrying a dangerous weapon, (aggravated misdemeanor), possession of marijuana (serious misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor), and operating while intoxicated 1st offense (serious misdemeanor).
Lundtvedt was transported to the Bremer County Jail where he is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the incident.
