Minnesota women crash car; drugs discovered

CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Two Minnesota women were cited for infractions Saturday after their car crashed in Interstate 35.

According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, February 15th at about 9:36 PM, deputies responded to a single vehicle collision near the 185 mile marker on Interstate 35. Two women were traveling in a 2006 Nissan Maxima when it slid into the median and struck a bridge pillar. The vehicle was totaled in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle, Lovasia London, age 23 of Robinsdale, Minnesota, was transported to Mercy North Iowa by Mason City ambulance with minor injuries. The passenger, Sabrina Wienke, age 23 of St. Paul, Minnesota was also transported to Mercy North Iowa with minor injuries.

London was cited for driving with a revoked driver’s license and failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle. OWI investigation and charges are pending on London. Wienke was cited for possession of a controlled substance (Marijuana).

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Iowa State Patrol, Rockwell-Swaledale EMS, and Mason City Fire Department.
