MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore point guard Chelsey Jacox was selected as the ICCAC women’s basketball player of the week for the week of Jan. 27-Feb. 1.
Jacox shared the ICCAC women’s honor with Marshalltown’s Courtney Williams-Perry.
Jacox (Plymouth, Minn.) scored 21 points with nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals in the Lady Trojans’ 99-61 win over DMACC on Feb. 1 in Boone.
Jacox averages 21.7 points per game, which ranks second in the ICCAC and sixth among all NJCAA Division II players. She also has 121 assists, which ranks second in the league and is tied for eighth nationally.
No. 1 NIACC (21-2 overall, 10-0 in the ICCAC) returns to action at Saturday at home against Marshalltown. Game time is set for 1 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
