BEIJING – A moon rover launched about a month ago by China has hit a snag, the Chinese news outlet Xinhua reported tis weekend.
The Yutu (Jade Rabbit), experienced a mechanical control abnormality due to the “complicated lunar surface environment,” the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence (SASTIND) said on Saturday, without giving further details, as reported by Xinhua.
Chinese scientists are trying to repair the problem.
Only the the U.S. and the former USSR Soviet republic had successfully landed rovers on the moon that sent back data. At this time, the U.S. is has a rover on Mars and claims to want to send humans there.
