Iowa man arrested on multiple charges

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, IOWA – On January 23rd, 2014, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department arrested Carlton John Dolph, age 31, of Villisca, on a Montgomery County warrant for one count of Terroristic Threats, a class D felony, and two counts of Arson in the Second Degree. Arson in the Second Degree is a Class C felony. Dolph was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and was being held on $10,000 bond.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Red Oak Police Department, and State Fire Marshal’s Office into two fires that were intentionally set at the Sunbest Pepetti Farms facility located at 2975 – 265th Street, Villisca. The first fire occurred on February 20th, 2013, with the second fire occurring five days later on February 25th, 2013. While that investigation was ongoing, a threatening letter was received at the facility on March 10th, 2013, claiming responsibility for the first two fires and threatening more fires would occur. Evidence was collected and submitted to the State Crime Lab in Ankeny. The results from those tests, combined with information gained through the investigation, led to the charges against Dolph.
