New Year starts out badly for Mason City couple

MASON CITY – There was trouble at a Mason City apartment house Friday afternoon.

Police had dealt with an un-named couple who lived at 10 South Jefferson Avenue Friday morning.  Later in the day, they returned to serve a no-contact order on a male who had been involved with a female in a domestic situation that was on-going on Friday.

No arrests were made, according to police, but there was a ruckus at the residence.

A neighbor told NIT that the “fight” was going on between a man and a woman starting between 6:00-6:30 AM, Friday morning.

“My dad was just leaving for work.  He could see stuff being thrown out the window,” said Sam Winkowitsch, looking at a second story window at the residence. “They’re both crazy and they are always fighting. As I understand it, they are engaged.”

Another family, that lives in another apartment in the house, was coming home around 3:00 PM, Friday afternoon. They looked at the mess, laughed and shrugged, “Have you ever seen anything like this?”
