Weekend Roundup, December 30 Edition
Good morning all. It was a fairly quiet and also odd weekend, at least the weather was odd. We went from 50 one day to 5 the next. Most City of Ames offices are closed on New Year’s day. Just like most holidays, Police Investigations, Records, Evidence, and Administration will be closed, but our hardworking Communications and Patrol Divisions will be on duty.
As you know, New Year’s Eve is tomorrow and it is one of those holidays that has a higher than average incidence of drunk driving. If you plan to drink, please use a designated driver or stay in. We will be enhancing our enforcement efforts tomorrow night focusing on impaired driving.
Over this weekend we arrested 6 individuals on the following 8 charges;
2 Warrant arrests
2 OWI
1 Possession controlled substance (meth)
1 Eluding
1 Theft 5th
1 Criminal Mischief 5th
