NIACC men stop Riverland, 94-63

niacc_trojans_logoAUSTIN, Minn. – Sophomore Sam Skogen (Mason City, Ia.) scored 25 points and sophomore David Humphries recorded a triple-double to lead NIACC to a 94-63 victory over Riverland Community College on Tuesday in a nonconference game.

The Trojans (10-2 overall) also received 19 points from freshman Al Davis (Colorado Springs, Col.) and 16 points from sophomore David Humphries (Adelaide, Australia).

Humphries also had 15 rebounds and 10 assists to record the second triple-double of his career. Humphries also recorded a triple-double on Nov. 20, 2012 against Riverland with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Freshman Shaquille Coleman (Duluth, Minn.) and sophomore Matthew Don (London, England) both scored 10 points.

Sophomore center John Hafoka (Adelaide, Australia) broke his leg in the second half of Tuesday’s conference. NIACC coach Mark Mohl said Hafoka’s surgery went well Wednesday in Rochester, Minn.

NIACC returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 4 at home against Marshalltown Community College. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Notes – Mohl improved his overall record to 87-75 … Mohl is 10-1 all-time against Riverland CC … NIACC leads the all-time series with Riverland CC 32-3 … NIACC has won seven straight games in the series against Riverland CC.
