To the Editor,
As the Butler County Auditor and Fund 10 Fiscal Agent, I have had the privilege of working with Jodi Draper for four years. Jodi serves as the Financial Manager for the 21 County Social Services Fund 10, with combined budgets of $ 24 million. Under her leadership and with her financial acuity, we have passed every state audit with flying colors. Jodi is precise in the decision making process and must adhere to the Code of Iowa when paying claims in the ever-changing mental health and disabilities world.
In this position, the highest ethical standards must be maintained. Jodi has a unique gift for developing relationships, yet maintains boundaries. Jodi projects confidence, but remains humble. She has a stellar reputation in the State of Iowa with the Department of Human Services and State legislators.
Jodi presented the Fiscal Year 2013 financial report to the Social Services Board. Her scrutiny of the claims presented to be paid, saved the region $ 708,000 in taxpayer dollars. Jodi is also responsible for timely payments to our service providers to ensure cash flow and maintain quality services to the disabled.
I feel that Mason City has the opportunity of a lifetime to vote for someone of this caliber. Jodi is a diamond in the rough and would be a great asset to city government. I encourage you to vote for Jodi Draper for City Council-Second Ward on November 5th.
Yours truly,
Lizbeth Holtz Williams
Butler County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections
Does anybody really rely on “endorsements”?? I mean, seriously.
Didnt know jodi was running in butler county
The letter at the end mentions the Mason City Election. The letter points out her acumen, ethics, and experiences in dealing with what looks like a large service organization.
mc resident, are you that uninformed? The article states:
“As the Butler County Auditor and Fund 10 Fiscal Agent, I have had the privilege of working with Jodi Draper for four years. Jodi serves as the Financial Manager for the 21 County Social Services Fund 10, with combined budgets of $ 24 million.”
How is that not a huge endorsement for Jodi? No doubt in my mind, I am voting for her. I had my mind made up before this though. Jodi came to my house and talked to me when going door to door which she had the guts to do. She is not afraid to talk to you about your thoughts. She is the only one that has knocked on my door to ask me what I think.
Her opponent never did that. Face it people these people don’t get rich from doing this, they don’t get paid that much to listen to us bitch about them.
I feel that Jodi is best for this position at this time and she doesn’t need to go through the hate that she will while she is in office but is willing to do it. She is a true servant and ready to sacrifice more time to you to better the community.
@John-I too am voting for Jodi. I have never seen Hickey knock on any doors here in the North End and he certainly did not answer any e-mails or return phone calls in the last four year. He doesn’t even try to find out what the opinions of the taxpayers are. Hickey is nothing more than a trained monkey for the town drunk. My wife and I were very impressed with Jodi and think she will make a fine council person who will represent all of the people, not just the top 1%.
