ST. ANSGAR – The Good Samaritan Society of St. Ansgar held the First Glow Run, Good Sam GLOW 5k Walk/Run, in North Iowa, Saturday night.
Robin Hanson was one of an estimated 250 participants in the event, “It was a good time. I like night run or walks. We walked it tonight.” Hanson was there with her friends Susan Guild-Craighton, Michelle Sackville, Amy Hickman and their families. “I had so much fun with these ladies!,” said Hanson.
There was a costume contest and people were asked to wear neon clothing and to bring extra glow swag. With their $25.00 registration fee, they received a glow t-shirt, glow necklace, glow bracelets and glow eyeglasses. Children 10 and under were free.
This non-timed race started at the Good Samaritan Society parking lot and there were black light tents set up throughout the route for glow pick-ups. They also had a photo booth set up for the participants to get their pictures taken.
