NEW YORK – The United Nations confirmed Sunday that chemical weapons inspectors arrived in Syria, issuing this statement:
“The United Nations team investigating allegations about the use of chemical weapons in the Syrian Arab Republic arrived in Damascus today, Sunday, 18 August. The mission will begin its work on Monday. Further updates may be given in due course from New York. Please note the team will not be speaking to the media.”
