Osage residents, past and present, celebrate Friday Night Out (PHOTOS)

OSAGE – Former classmates, residents, and visitors gathered in City Park in Osage on Friday night to enjoy the last Friday Night out of 2013.

Mitchell County Law enforcement vehicles were lined up in one corner of the park, illuminating the evening with their lights flashing. They were all open for people to explore, and many children were enjoying the chance to see the equipment up close. This was a part of National Night Out, celebrated each year at this time of year in 15,700 communities across the United States.

Activities for children also included bean bag toss, radar baseball throw, face and nail painting, balloon animals, a bounce house, and a kiddie train. Many children and families were present, taking advantage of the beautiful summer evening.

Adults had plenty to enjoy themselves as well. There were a variety of food vendors, a beer tent, and Hwy 9 filling the park with good music all evening long. Osage was celebrating its All Class Reunion, so old friends were reuniting, and memories shared.

It was a great turnout to finish the summer season, “the biggest I’ve seen this year,” stated a local resident.
