MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday morning for its regular meeting.

The board heard a road report from County Engineer Mary Kelly (see video).

The board approved a resolution to apply for membership in the Iowa Municipalities Workers’ Compensation Association.

The board also signed a memo of understanding with the city of Rock Falls regarding the transportation and sheltering of stray dogs.

According to Tom Drzycimski, Cerro Gordo County Personnel and Safety Director, the Memorandum of Understanding permits stray animals seized in Rock Falls to be picked up by the county’s designated transport provider and brought to the Mason City Stray Animal Shelter under the county’s 28E Agreement with the City of Mason City (entered into in April 2009). Mason City bills us for the confinement of the dog and we invoice the cost to the city. The county covers the cost of transport, which is provided by Dr. Jeff Cornick under agreement entered into in April 2009. The county has similar Memorandums of Understanding with Swaledale (January 2011), Plymouth (December 2010), and Rockwell (December 2010).
