Hidalgo, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Hidalgo International Bridge intercepted a woman for alleged violations of immigration law. The United States citizen allegedly attempted to facilitate a Mexican citizen’s entry into the United States without valid entry documents.
On Tuesday, July 2, at the Hidalgo International Bridge a 35-year-old female U.S. citizen who resides in Mission, Texas and woman applied for admission to enter the United States. A CBP officer’s primary inspection resulted in both being referred to CBP secondary for further inspection and review of entry documents presented. In passport control secondary, CBP officers reviewed the birth certificate presented by the driver of the gray 2009 Ford Edge for her passenger. CBP officers identified the female passenger as a 19-year-old Mexico citizen born in Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico with no legal documents to enter or reside in the United States.
CBP officers arrested the driver for alleged violations of immigration law and seized her vehicle.
“This alleged smuggling attempt was prevented as a direct result of the great work by our CBP officers on the frontline.
