MASON CITY – A graduation ceremony was held Wednesday, May 29 to celebrate 66 students completing their GED® through North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC). The ceremony was held at 7:00 p.m. in the North Iowa Community Auditorium with a reception for family, friends and special guests.
GED® graduates must successfully complete the GED® battery of tests to obtain their high school equivalency diploma from the Iowa Department of Public Instruction. Over the past 20 years, nearly 2,700 individuals have passed the GED® tests through NIACC.
This year, 18 graduates received $250 scholarships from the NIACC Foundation. One graduate will receive full tuition scholarships for the 2013-14 school year.
