One killed, three injured in two car collision near Clarksville

logo-iowa-state-patrolCLARKSVILLE – A Clarksville man was killed and three others from that town injured in a two-car crash Thursday morning.

According to a report, at around 10:41 a.m. Thursday a Chevy Venture driven by Joanna Heidemann, 30, of Clarksville, was heading south on Highway 188 roughly a mile south of Clarksville  when she lost control and entered the northbound lanes.

Heidemann’s vehicle then struck a Ford Escape driven by Edward Eilers, 84, of Clarksville.  Eilers was pronounced dead at a Waverly hospital.

A passenger in Eilers’ vehicle, Georgia Eilers, 79, was injured and taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo and then later to Iowa City.

Heidemann and a two-year old boy in her vehicle were taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment of their injuries.  The report did not state how serious their injuries are.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Clarksville Fire Department, Clarksville Ambulance, the Shell Rock Fire Department, Allison Ambulance, the Clarksville Police Department and Waverly Paramedics.
