Winter Reading Bingo program now accepting registrations at M.C. library

mcpl_front_2011MASON CITY – Adult readers can enjoy some new and old favorites this winter while taking part in Winter Reading Bingo at the Mason City Public Library. The program, which goes through March 31, involves reading books of different types or genres to earn a “Bingo” and the chance to win a prize.

The first 100 patrons to register for Winter Reading Bingo will get a free, custom-printed bookmark with their Bingo card. Readers can earn a Bingo by reading 4 books in categories such as international or travel, health and fitness, mystery, non-fiction, classics, and more.

For each Bingo, either row, column, or diagonal, the reader will receive an entry into a drawing for prizes, which include gift certificates for books and food, a Geranium planter custom-decorated by Friends of the Library Treasurer Midge Gaylord, or a blanket to curl up under while reading on chilly winter days or nights.

Registrations are being accepted at the Commons Desk at the Mason City Public Library.

Winter Reading Bingo is sponsored by the Mason City Friends of the Library, with special thanks to John Henry and Cedar Creek Printing Press for the custom bookmarks.

So…will there be quizzes?
Nice idea, but this town is full of liars. Would’ve been cooler to have it for children & their parents. IMO
