Mason City man arrested for firing weapon in family dispute

PLYMOUTH – A Mason City man was arrested Tuesday after an incident in Plymouth involving a gun.

According to reports, Shawn Patrick Hockenson, age 40, was arrested by Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday after a family dispute that took place Monday evening in Plymouth. Reports indicate that Hockenson fired a weapon in some manner during that dispute.

Deputies spoke with an unknown subject after the incident as part of an apparent investigation into the matter. It is not known what caused the dispute, which took place at 407 Grove Street in Plymouth. The property is owned by Lennie Boyd, records show.

Hockenson was finally arrested Tuesday and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail where he is still being held on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and discharging weapons.

Hockenson was accused in Worth County of domestic assault with the display of a weapon in 2011 but a jury dismissed the charges, with Judge Colleen Weiland presiding.  Hockenson was assessed court costs and fees totaling $3,556.84, however, and still owes $1,374.76.

You don’t know what is was the reason behind the gun firing I’m not agreeing with what he did but you have no idea who he his what has happened In His life for you to judge him he has made bad choices and he should pay for his actions and the other hockenson in jail they are family but you guys can just back of and mind your own business you don’t know the wile story

Knock him in the head with the gun. He needs a good wake up call. Wonder if it’s the same chic he abused in 2011. Some are so in looooove they never learn.

No it was definitely not the same person from 2011. She learned what a loser he was back then and has not had any contact with him since

Is this guy any relation to the other Hockenson listed on the jail roster right now?

clearly the answer here is more guns.

With over 200 million guns owned by private citizens in the US, (FBI estimate) I personally don’t need any more. I just don’t want the commies taking mine away, OR, restricting my legal use of them.

Hmmmm. I’m not familiar with a jury dismissing charges, but I’m not that savvy about the judicial process. Observer, you around?

The only way criminal charges are dismissed following a trial is if the jury finds the accused not guilty. Think things through and remember your high school civics class before you go off the handle and unfairly criticize the judge (again).

This so called Judge is a piece od work. She wouldnt feel a bit sorry if someone she let out of jail killed someone.

I’m wondering when you will learn to write at or above a 4th grade level?

I’m wondering when your going to play nice? Now, go to your room f* tard!

mother…not your. It is you’re.

I’m wondering when a innocent person is going to loose their life because of Judge Colleen Weiland dismissing numerous cases!!
