North Korea: “US, S. Korea Stage Ceaseless War Maneuvers against DPRK”

Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) — The artillery forces of the 2nd Division of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea and the 7th artillery brigade of the south Korean puppet army kicked off joint military maneuvers for preemptive strike at the DPRK on January 15, according to south Korean Yonhap News.

An artillery live shell firing drill was staged in Ryonchon County, Kyonggi Province on January 17, the last day of the maneuvers.

That day the south Korean warmongers supplied their ammunition to the U.S. artillery unit and frantically staged a firing drill for striking major targets of the DPRK according to the coordinates indicated by the U.S. forces.

Meanwhile, south Korean units are mulling staging large-scale war maneuvers for bolstering the preemptive attack capability to invade the north in the forefront areas from January 21.

The 8th and 21st Divisions plan to conduct exercises under the simulated conditions of attack on the DPRK in Cholwon, south Korean Kangwon Province and Phochon, Kyonggi Province and other areas till January 25 by mobilizing huge troops, tanks and armored cars.

The 6th Division announced that it would stage military maneuvers including large-scale mobile drill to increase combat capability in winter season in Cholwon, south Korean Kangwon Province till February 8.
