
MASON CITY – Shortly after 3am Thursday, January 10th, Mason City police officers responded to an alarm at Pizza Hut at 2117 4th Street SW.
Upon arrival officers found forced entry to the business at the back door, but the thieves had already fled the scene. Fire fighters were lifted and checked to see if anyone could have gained entrance into the restaurant by way of the roof. There wasn’t any evidence of broken windows and the main door was undamaged.
Up to 5 officers investigated the scene and searched the area. No arrests have been made at this time.
A burglary report was taken and Mason City police continue to investigate the incident. What, if anything, the thieves took was not released.
