Memorial funds set up for families of Air Med crash victims

A memorial in remembrance of Nurse Shelly Lair-Langenbau of Hanlontown, Paramedic Russel Piehl of Forest City and Med-Trans Pilot Gene Grell, victims of the AirMed crash Wednesday night, has been set up in the lobby of Mercy Health Center-North Iowa ‘s East Campus for people to view and reflect.

MASON CITY – Mercy Hospital has established memorial funds to help support the families of last week’s tragic Mercy Air Med helicopter crash.

Mercy Foundation – North Iowa has established memorial funds to support the families of nurse Shelly (Shell) Lair-Langenbau; paramedic Russell (Russ) Piehl, and pilot Gene Grell.

Mercy says memorial donations may be designated to:
– The Shell Lair-Langenbau Memorial Fund
– The Russ Piehl Memorial Fund
– The Gene Grell Memorial Fund

Memorial donations may also be designated to The Mercy Air Med Flight Crew Monument.
