Waldorf Art Gallery to debut exhibit from local educator

Waldorf Art Gallery to debut exhibit from local educator Ted Bieth

Forest City, Iowa – Waldorf College will debut its third art gallery exhibit of the academic year on Jan. 7, 2013. The exhibit will feature works by Ted Bieth, a teacher at Northwood Kensett Community Schools and North Iowa Area Community College.

“The pencil is my favorite medium; it is a friend I understand,” said Bieth, whose show features primarily pencil drawings. “I’m just as comfortable with a paintbrush, and I also have my moments with clay.”

Waldorf College Art Gallery Director Dean Swenson selected Bieth after seeing his work in a faculty show at North Iowa Area Community College.

“I was very impressed with his realistic pencil drawings and thought an exhibition of his work would be an interesting contrast to my show in the gallery last fall,” Swenson said.

Bieth’s exhibition will be displayed through Feb. 8. Community members are invited to attend the Artist Reception on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at no cost. Bieth will discuss his creative process and take questions from those in attendance at 6:30 p.m.
