Paroled stalker arrested for Mason City assault

MASON CITY – A Mason City man who was recently paroled after serving 2 years in prison for 2nd Degree Burglary and Stalking a Webster County woman was arrested Friday evening for serious assault.

According to a Mason City police incident report officers arrested 38-year-old Jamin Jerel Pierce after responding to an assault in the 600 block of South Polk Avenue shortly before 4pm Friday.

Pierce was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and charged with a serious misdemeanor count of Serious Assault with Injury. Pierce was released a short time later after posting bond and promising to appear to future court proceedings.

According to online court records Pierce was charged in Webster County in 2007 with a Class B felony count of 1st degree Burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor count of Stalking, and a serious misdemeanor count of False Imprisonment after entering his female victim’s home and assaulting her.

By reaching a plea bargain agreement with the Webster County Attorney’s Office and getting the 1st degree burglary charge amended to 2nd degree burglary, in exchange for a guilty plea, Peirce was able to avoid a potential 28 years in prison.

With the plea bargain Peirce was able to avoid the original forcible felony 1st Degree Burglary charge and received probation for the 2nd Degree Burglary and Stalking convictions. In 2010 after violating probation a 2nd time a Webster County Judge sentenced Pierce to serve 10 years in prison for the burglary and an additional 2 years in prison for the stalking offense.

According to the Iowa Department of Corrections he was placed on community based corrections and paroled from prison on June 14th of this year after 2 years of his sentences. Peirce is currently still on parole according to the Iowa Department of Corrections until May 15th, 2013.

It is unclear at this time rather his parole officer will initiate parole revocation proceedings against him for this latest arrest. At this time he is currently out on bail and on parole living in Mason City.

If the jails and prisons are too full they should just release a pot smoker out the back door and put this creep in.
It’s counterproductive to fill jails & prisons with pot smokers while pedophiles, rapists, thieves etc. are let loose to harm other innocents.
Doesn’t make sense to me that a pot smoker gets 15 yrs. and a female embezzler (who STOLE the public’s money)gets probation.

Wake up mason city residents and shoot this pos when he comes into your house, aim for his nuts and hope you hit him right between the eyes, but get more ammo as more scum bags will come to seek justice.

i think he assualted a child i heard it on my scanner low life peice of shit send him back

Could he be connected to the assaults that are happening. Two assaults occurred twice in 2 days recently!

Sexual assaults.

Well this should be easy. Revoke his parole and send him back to prison. Let’s see what happens.

The state prisons are all filled up. The old cerro gordo county jail was at 120% capacity so they built the new one out side of town and that new jail is at 36% capacity. They can hold a prisoner there for a year but they don’t. The judges and attorneys release these people because the state prisons are full but why not use the local jail?

they were overcapacity because at the time they were keeping inmate past their dates so they could say they were overcapacity when the vote came around. How do I know this? They held me for thirty days on a seven day sentence along with a few of the other inmates.
