MASON CITY – A “For Seniors Only” program will be held on Wednesday, November 14 from 10 a.m. – Noon at the Lime Creek Nature Center.
Historical Re-enactor Darrel Draper will portray Theodore Roosevelt in this unique costumed program which is free and open to the public.
Draper, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Roosevelt, has been described by audience members as “an awesome and absolutely wonderful performer” who is able to transport listeners back in time to the era of his characters. Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, was known for his achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier.
Draper’s performance is sponsored by the Lime Creek Nature Center and is made possible with a grant from Humanities Iowa. The program will be followed by an optional catered lunch and social time. Meal cost is $5.00 for nature center members and $7.00 for nonmembers. Registration is required – please call 423-5309.
