Progress Iowa calls on Mitt Romney to revoke endorsement of Richard Mourdock during campaign stop in Cedar Rapids –
DES MOINES — Progress Iowa executive director Matt Sinovic issued the following statement today, in advance of Mitt Romney’s campaign appearance in Cedar Rapids, Iowa:
“Richard Mourdock’s comments about rape were completely unacceptable, offensive to all Iowans, and Mitt Romney should revoke his endorsement of Mourdock today in Cedar Rapids,” said Matt Sinovic, executive director of Progress Iowa. “This is another example of Romney’s etch-a-sketch approach to leadership. On Sunday, Romney endorsed Mourdock and even released the only ad of his campaign on behalf of a Senate candidate. Today, Romney says he ‘disagrees’ with Mourdock but stands by him. By the time Romney comes back to Ames on Friday, I wouldn’t be surprised if he claims never to have met Mourdock.”
“Iowans respect decisive action far more than words, and Mitt Romney has a chance in Cedar Rapids today to do what’s right — before his second, third, or fourth different position on the offensive statements made by Richard Mourdock.”

Those “failed policys”, the stock market doubled in value, unemployment down, houseing sales up, one war shut down (that never should have been started) , one to go, bin laden dead, millions of jobs saved, health care reform……

Mr. Toot, your horn is out of tune. The stock market has not doubled. Unemployment is barely down. Housing sales are only up because they’re dirt cheap. I have a friend who has bought 10 rentals in FL. Our CIA, not Obama, found bin Laden, millions of jobs were not saved, they were converted from high-paying jobs to minimum wage ones, and the war was winding down anyway. It’s not health care reform, it’s a health care storm. Where I work, the employee’s health insurance package just went from $500 deductible to $2500 with a $65/month increase in premium. And I’m damned tired of getting a report to fill out every 2 months asking me how many employees the business has, how many employees are covered and if the employer and his wife & kids are covered. It’s just ridiculous. The paperwork Obama has put upon employers is onerous. There is no computer program to complete some of it. You have to do it on a calculator and it takes forever.
Katie, stock market is up about 68% since Pres. Obama took office. New housing start are up about 50% since Pres. Obama took office. Median house prices have risen 12% over just the past year. Just about every economic indicator is up way up from when Pres Obama took office, yet you and your teab***er buddies won’t admitt it. Why? Are you so narrow minded that you can’t see your hand in front of your face or is it that you just hate Pres Obama. You are the ones that would rather see the country go down the tubes than have Pres Obama reelected. Shame on you and your kind.
@happyguy: The stock market is going to go BOOM if we do not get government spending under control and that is not on Obooma’s agenda. He wants to spend us all into dependent socialism, and yes, I know what that is. Rich people have kept their assets offshore because of their fear that a president like him would come along someday. I don’t blame them one bit. I fully expect a president with his political philosophies to someday sign an executive order and take everyone’s bank accounts and monetary assets over a certain amount to pay government debt or for government spending. Socialized medicine was his first step. He didn’t get everything that he wanted in the ACA. He wanted everyone on government care. Thank goodness that didn’t happen. It could have been a lot worse.

When Obama ran four years ago you fear mongers said he would take away our guns and now he will take all our money away. He has signed about the same number of executive orders as Bush did. @Bodacious-I have never watched Rush or listened to him in my life. I do NOT hate Democrats. My wife is a Democrat as are my brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. I have said it before and I will say it again. I am an Independent and I think for myself and yes, I know what communism is. It is whatever the hell I want it to be. Would you feel more comfortable if people used the word “central planning”? The funny thing is the gig is up. There are so many news/opinion sites with the truth now–Red State, Breitbart and Drudge with links to news stories that previously were supressed by the liberal MSM. The firewall has been breached, the truth is getting out, (example, what really happened in Libya). You might as well get used to the new reality. Why not read those sites so you don’t remain clueless about so much?

Hey you–you should google “Liverpool Care Pathway” (basically their version of hospice)and read what’s going on in Britian’s wonderful govt healthcare program. Daily Telegraph reporting the number of people being put on the pathway doubled in just two years, with tens of thousands of patients now on it. Here’s the kicker– up to half of families are not being informed of clinicians’ decision to put their family member on the pathway, the report by the Royal College of Physicians found. The treatment can also involve stopping your food and water–how lovely, especially a system where somehow your family doesn’t get the memo they’ve decided you are going to die. They (the system) decides if you get food and water. What in the world are any of you people that are for this thinking????? You have a responsibility to be informed, dig deeper as this stuff is too important. Of course we need reform but not a govt takeover. I voted for Obama in 2008 but I believe he is one of the most dishonest leaders and has the most corrupt administration that I’ve seen in my lifetime and I will be voting for Romney this time.
