MASON CITY – North Iowa Powerlifting along with P-town Barbell and South Side Bully (both gyms from Minnesota) and 22nd Street Barbell (from Des Moines) will be hosting a meet and greet event for Thomas Swanson and other children that may have special needs and are interested in weight lifting. Our goal is to give Thomas and others a great day of meeting people that these kids look up to.
Dan Grauerholz, a local power lifter, said Tuesday that “We have received a lot of interest in this. We don’t know how many kids to expect, but everyone can expect a good time interacting with people and some great lifting! All lifters please arrive around 11:30 or so to help with a few things and start your training session. Ideally we would like to wrap up the lifting around 2:30 and spend the rest of the time with our guests.”
The lifters will begin their workouts at 11:30 and will be ready to hit serious weights by 1:00 PM. They will be spending time between sets with the children and will be available for autographs and pictures with anyone that wants them from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

First off you got the wrong guy I was not the one investigated. There you go jumping to conclusions once again. Second your prophetic appology to my son is one of shame. You were flat out wrong in your accusations and furthermore harassed him on FB. Would you like for me to post the message you left for him cause I have a copy? I would not step foot in NIP. The owners of this establishment shoot from the hip and rush to judgement in accusing innocent citizens of wrong doing.
You were never accused, just investigated. We investigated everyone who looked and acted suspicious and this is how we caught him. Your actions made you look really suspicious! If you can’t grasp this concept and don’t understand our point then I agree with RANDAL. “go chill in the hot box” 🙂
