Arispe, IOWA — Last night at approximately 10:47 PM, the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for assistance at 203 Park Place in Arispe, Iowa in reference to a reported shooting.  At the scene, deputies located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.  Laura Maxfield-Anderson, 52, and Ronald Anderson, 60, were taken by life flight to a Des Moines hospital for treatment.  Their conditions are not known at this time.

The shooting appears to be a result of a domestic dispute.  Law enforcement officers are not actively seeking any additional persons in connection with this shooting investigation and do not believe the public is in any danger.  The investigation into this shooting is continuing.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assist in this investigation, which continues today. The Afton Police Department and the Creston Police Department are also assisting.
