Terry Balek of Mason City brought his red 1967 Dodge Charger out to show off a little.  “It’s got the standard 323 sure grip in it,” he said. “It’s good for the road.” Balek has specialized plates on his Charger that say “67 CHGR.”

Some of the other cool cars that were available for viewing were: A 1963 Avanti R1, a 1955 Pontiac, a 1955 Plymouth and a 1963 Mercury, among others.  There was even a hot rod and a drag racer in the parking lot.

Manly Police Chief Aaron Pals stopped by the car show.

“A perfect day for these folks,” he agreed.  “It’s a nice quiet day in Manly, and these folks can enjoy it.”

Activities Director Barb Francis helped organize the event.

“We try to get everybody out, and everybody a turn looking at the cars,” she said.  “The North Iowa Vintage Club helped bring in more cars.”

Wow – what a great idea! The residents can reminisce back to when they drove these type of cars – great job Barb and thanks for reporting Matt.
