MANCHESTER — A second person was arrested Monday in the slaying of a couple in their Manchester home two months ago.
Brandon Ahlers, 19, of Manchester, faces two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree murder for his role in the deaths of Richard and Janet Sweet, according to a news release. He’s being held in the Delaware County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
Manchester Police Chief Bruce Trapp released limited information late Monday, and a criminal complaint wasn’t immediately available. Neither Trapp nor Delaware County Attorney John Bernau returned phone messages.
Isaiah Sweet, 17, was charged in May of two counts of first-degree murder. He is accused of fatally shooting his grandparents, who were his legal guardians.
His trial is scheduled for Aug. 1 in Delaware County District Court, and he remains in jail under a $1 million bond.
