CLEAR LAKE – The City of Clear Lake Parks & Recreation Department recently received a $2,000 grant through the Iowa Grocery Association’s “Build with Bags Program”.
The money was used to purchase 8 park benches made from recycled plastic grocery
bags, with four benches being placed at Tourist Park and four benches being placed at Pine Tree Park. Each bench contains over 10,600 recycled grocery bags, removing over 84,000 bags that would otherwise go into our local landfill.
To bad the city of Clear Lake can’t donate some dog stations like they have at city park.
