AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly announced Wednesday that former I-K-M Manning and Des Moines Area Community College player Ashley Hagedorn will walk on at the school in 2012-13.
“We are excited to add Ashley to our program,” Fennelly said. “She has always been a big Cyclone fan and after a good career at DMACC playing for Steve Krafcisin, Ashley decided to walk on at Iowa State.”
Hagedorn, a 5-9 guard from Irwin, Iowa, recently completed a two-year stint at DMACC, earning 2011-12 All-Region XI first-team honors while helping lead the Bears to the regional semifinals. She was second on the team with 12.3 points and finished with a team-high 66 three-pointers. Hagedorn was also named to the Region XI All-Tournament team.
At I-K-M Manning, Hagedorn earned all-state accolades as a senior and won a state title with the Wolves her junior season. She finished second in school history scoring 1,089 career points and was the all-time leader with 442 steals and 364 assists. Hagedorn was a multi-sport standout, earning 17 letters during her high school career.
