CLEAR LAKE – The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce announces the Clear Lake Mobile App – the area’s first mobile travel guide of its kind that puts our local attractions, events, recreational opportunities, accommodations, restaurants and history at visitors’ fingertips.  The mobile guide is now available for free for Android users at the Android market, Google Play, and will be available at the iTunes app store for iPhone and iPad users within days.

The Clear Lake Mobile app is designed to help visitors easily access Clear Lake lodging, entertainment, attractions and dining options, putting this information right at their fingertips.  The mobile app also includes several area attractions to encourage visitors to extend their stay while they “Stay at the Shore and Explore North Iowa.”

Special features and highlights of the Clear Lake app include:

  • More than 200 listings including restaurants, hotels, museums and historical sites
  • Press to Call feature to contact businesses
  • Shopping destinations listed by locality
  • Restaurants listed by cuisine

Libbey Patton, Director of Tourism, encourages local residents to take advantage of this new service and tell their extended friends, families, and colleagues about it.

“The Clear Lake mobile app is a great resource for locals as well as visitors.  Take advantage of this free service and get instant access to restaurants, attractions, events and more!  The Press to Call feature is especially useful to the local consumer.”

Tourism generates $42.4 million in revenue for Clear Lake, supports nearly 400 jobs and provides $2.2 million in state and local taxes.
