VENTURA – A Ventura woman was arrested Saturday after Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a special needs child left at her home unattended.
Deputies went to the residence of 29 year-old Abby Wellik at 8 South Main Street at 3:34 p.m. Saturday to serve civil papers and discovered “a minor special needs child was found to be left alone at residence to fend for herself without the ability to do so. Mother was arrested for Child Endangerment.”
Wellik was arrested for child endangerment (726.6)and transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
