On March 25, 2012 Officer with the Waterloo Police Department’s Violent Crimes Apprehension Team encountered a fight in the 200 block of Broadway St. Officers identified one of the suspect vehicles fleeing the scene and conducted a traffic stop with it a short time later. The driver of the vehicle was identified as twenty-two year old Mikhal Rashad Ambrose. Two other passengers were identified as twenty year old Christopher Dante Roby and twenty-one year old Depre Donniques Owens. During the investigation Officers located a loaded semi-auto handgun and a revolver in the vehicle. Officers determined Ambrose was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Officers later obtained arrest warrants for Ambrose for OWI and carrying weapons. On April 7, 2012 Ambrose was taken into custody on the warrants and booked into the Black Hawk County Jail where he later posted bond. Case remains under investigation.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
