On Friday, March 23, 2012, at 1:25 a.m., the resident of 4130 Lincoln Swing #3, contacted the Ames Police Department and reported that a robbery had occurred at his residence. Jason Allen advised responding officers that three subjects had forcibly entered his residence and demanded money. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and struck Allen about his head. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area.
The victim described all three suspects as being black male adults, wearing bandanas and hoodies. Allen was treated and released from Mary Greeley Medical Center for lacerations to his head.
The Ames Police Department is also investigating another incident which occurred on March 21, at 8:19 p.m., where two suspects entered an apartment at 4210 Lincoln Swing and threatened the resident and took a laptop computer. No injuries were reported in this incident. The two suspects in this case were described as being tall black male adults, both wearing dark hoodies.
